haha i love gavin in the next booth gagging
Never had edamame before. If I ever have it in the future, I now know how to eat it. Is edamame good?
yes
edamame is soy beans
Yeah they're good, usually lightly salted.
Its soy beans? Well I feel like I actually learned something today from rooster teeth. Queue "The More You Know" music
"You done with this? Not me."
On a different note, are the edamame pods toxic, or are they just inedible because of the texture?
It would be like eating a banana, and then chowing down on the peel afterwards.
Gross but harmless. Gotcha.
They taste ok, they're just very fibrous and a bit chewy, like a snow pea but tougher
I went to this tiny sushi joint in Sydney and they brought out a little bowl of 3 or 4 for me while I waited for my order. I didn't realise you weren't supposed to eat the pods until after I'd left!
This reminds me of the time I was eating Hot Tamales for the first time. I wasn't supposed to eat the corn shell, but I didn't know until after I ate it. My siblings got a belly laugh out of it.
Been there as well. I also remember the first time I saw whole jalapeños, I asked my parents what these things were and both of them just said try it, didn't even answer my question.
i ate an entire bay leaf once because it was left in my dish and i didn't know you weren't supposed to eat it
Still funny. Still disgusting.
A family friend of mine (an actual Japanese person no less); her son does the same. Eats the shell as well for some reason. I had more or less the same reaction as Bernie and Matt
It's nice to see that Jenny has moved on from her drama in the Daiquiri Factory.
i used to eat melon skins all the time, cause we got them for snack at after school club, and tit was always cut into cubes, but with the skin left on, and no one told me for a long long time that you weren't actually meant to eat that part
Actually a local restaurant here used to serve pickled melon rinds off their salad bar. People around here love them.
Was that the first time Gavin's gag was animated?
I think I just threw up a bit..
I didn't know edamame wasn't a popular thing outside of Hawaii and Asia.
In restaurants, it's usually just in Japanese restaurants where I live. I can get it from regular supermarkets though, as well.
