You're a day late on this yesterday this had already been confirmed as dead in the water.
As they said in the video, only bloomberg is really saying its dead in the water, with other sources saying its merely on hold. So it remains to be seen what will happen. Also as they said in the video the stock went up a bunch when the rumor went out, which may put some sway for fox to consider it.
I hope X-Men never become part of the MCU. With a ton of different characters, X-Men works very well as its own universe, and Fox has been doing some great things with it lately - Logan and Legion were both awesome, the New Mutants trailer looks very promising, and a Dark Phoenix Saga is coming up. To say nothing of Deadpoop.
Feel free to sell Fantastic Four back to Marvel, though.
Honestly Xmen are pretty hit and miss. Yeah the TV shows are doing ok, (which they do have more of marvels help for those) But their movies have been largely hit and miss. I mean like half the Xmen related movies are pretty bad. And Apocalypse looked good initally, but turned out to be sour, so i am unsure how the phoenix and new mutants are going to be.
You can say logan was good but the other 2 wolverine movies were not. And even if they did go back to marvel, the Xmen would probably still mostly do their own thing. (thats what they have done for years) but we would get access to a bunch of the more interesting side villains and whatnot that could appear in marvels other stuff.
Also 2 last things. FF have been poop. and I want a future Deadpool/Spiderman teamup (maybe when spiderman gets a bit older)
First Class and Days of Future Pants were very good, Apocalypse less so, but still more engaging than half of MCU light-hearted action-comedies, where it's impossible to get invested in the plot because everything is a set-up for a joke. Only Last Stand and Wolverine Origins were bad movies, and they were a long time ago.
The X-Men series has been going since the year 2000, and Fox did and keeps doing great things with it. Marvel will just make another Guardians of the Galaxy out of it.
