I turned off the first one when Charlie Day was overacting as a 13 year old boy from an anime. It was so obnoxious and the entire movie just reeked of "guillermo was really inspired by evangelion" and none of it worked for me.
Well, that was legitimately disappointing to hear. I was starting to get excited for this movie, and I wanted this movie to be good, but after this abysmal review, I think I'll pass.
Go watch the movie! It's not nearly as bad as they lead on.
After watching the film and watching this review, I have to say the Jon and Eric are sooo wrong. Stay with me here.
(3:00) Eric, how about you let the people who are going to go watch the film decide if they'll like it or not. I watched both movies, I enjoyed both movies. Don't preach, it's unbecoming.
(3:40) Jon, your realize that none of the Jagers actually talk right? We are still talking about Uprising, right? And of course scrapper is anthropomorphic, all the Jagers are. Strange detail to speak negatively about.
(4:45) the characters were only repairing 1 or 2 out of the 4 Jagers. Never was it stated or even hinted that they were building all new Jagers, which is the point you're arguing. Maybe y'all weren't paying attention to that detail, which is odd. Anyways, moot point (and criticism).
(6:50) everyone cannot drift with anyone. Again, I have to question whether you were actually paying attention to the film. Boyega and the little girls character find out they are compatible in a scene. After that, the only people drifting together are partners already established in prior scenes. SMH
(7:30) I agree, the speech was not great. Fell super short.
(12:30) I wholeheartedly disagree. I personally think (not preaching, looking at you Eric) that it's an enjoyable movie that warrant the big screen.
If you stuck around and read my comment, thanks!
