As a first teaser, I liked what little I saw.
oooh this is really exciting, i think venom's so dope! i mean, even if they butcher the story, it'll be great to see an adaptation played by anyone other than topher grace.
i'm still not over that movie if you can't tell
While I am a proponent for trailers not giving away too much of the content that we will be viewing in the movie, I do believe that showing off the design of the super-hero/antihero's suit is almost always a plus. It gives us, as the viewer, a better expectation of what is to come, and allows us to know if the design is well constructed, akin to most modern Marvel films, or if it's a Green Lantern esque CGI disaster. Constructive criticisms aside, I am interested to see what will come next from Venom.
i'm torn between wanting to see a well-adapted venom on screen and wanting this to crash and burn. Sony has managed to make a grand total of one good spiderman film, and now all their meddling is making people who can actually make good content suffer. Sony, you failed to make a spiderman trilogy when you had everything, twice, now you don't even have a spiderman to use, just stop before you ruin great characters with awful movies and terrible decisions.
TBH I'm glad to hear they didn't really show much of venom. Thing I liked most about the solo trailer is that its never stated why they putting a crew together. I was honestly interested in it for that reason alone. that way when i go to see the movie ill find out what its about not just how it end. trailers give to much plot away nowadays.
Great to see you guys back.
The teaser still spoils too much.
I don't even watch teasers/trailers anymore because I don't like generating any kinds of expectations, but it sounds like it did exactly what it was supposed to do: get people talking about it. I mean, THAT's the point, right? and here we are, talking about it. Done. Success. Throw their marketing team a party.
Yeah... any advertising is good advertising ... get those people over at Sony who did the marketing for No Man's Sky on the job - I'm sure that'll go well... oh wait...
They're idiots who always change their minds about what they wanted to see after they see it. Too much CGI, too many scenes shown, they incorrectly complain they watched the whole movie already, not enough time for CGI work to be done and they incorrectly complain it looks like a fan made trailer for a low budget film which didn't show us anything. Just stop judging films from trailers! Judge it as a trailer only!
It's a teaser. It did it's job.
Does Jon like Tom Hardy? He's just giving off a bit of a vibe, I'm not sure.
