Based on this title and Miles's post, this is going to be a journey into why JoJo's plot is so crazy and you really can't miss a second or you will be lost instantly. I blame Dio.

Fun Fact: The Japanese Voice actress for Shouko in a silent voice, is the same voice actress who play's Ruby in the RWBY Japanese Dub.

Your spoiler review/impressions on A Silent Voice was good....but not enough.
The only thing that none of you guys even mentioned was the sound design. Like how they mic'd up the piano where you can audibly hear the keys being pushed or the pedals being stepped on....just to create a distorted effect that this is how a deaf person would experience the world around them, or some of the loud music lowering itself whenever Shoya either physically or mentally blocks all of the sounds around him.
The OST is amazing...simply the best. My favorite ones are "svg", "fractal", and "lit". "Lit" (not a joke, that's the title of the ost) appears incomplete in some scenes, only showing its loud second half in the ending, which made the entire scene so emotional.
Yeah. It turns out if you jump into episode 6 of JoJo. You don't understand a bunch of stuff and get angry.
Flawless plan for a segment. Sarcasm aside, yeah, I would hate JoJo as well if I jumped into episode 6. The reason they were winning you over, is because it's enjoyable. And episode 6 ,is probably the weakest part of LITERALLY all 100 + episodes.
The best part about this podcast? When I have 6 extra tabs open behind this one set to Tv Tropes and Wikipedia, learning things about Anime I've never heard of.
