Less then 2 mins in, and my suggestion is "Pour some water in the drain" to fill the U trap. that blocks the gas.

@FATDANtcm For a short term fix, absolutely this. Though I'm shocked that the contractors who remodeled this office didn't cap the drain if it's no longer being used. Only 2 minutes in before checking comments, maybe they'll show the drain in question.

@FATDANtcm For unused drains mix in some mineral oil to the water before you pour. The oil will make a surface layer that'll slow evaporation from the trap.

I think the cleanup after the project is completed is still part of the job.

The smell issue happened at where i work, and we started dumping our mop water down the drain and the smell stopped instantly. So maybe just dump some water down at least once a week.
