@Wolfgang_FystI think the general appeal is similar to things like Stardew Valley. It's a game with a light tone that you can't lose. I like it as a pallet cleanser from playing things like Dark Souls or whatever. In AC I'll always be making progress, theres enough different things to work on(different aspects of the game, and also things tied to real time) so theres almost always something to do, it's never stressful, and a generally happy positive optimistic tone. I think it naturally appeals to casual players, and works as a good alternative to more hardcore players where they can use it to take a break.
