I think it would save Nintendo money in terms of manufacturing efficiency where the "switch plus" will definitely be a thing, but I think the "plus" will come from the dock not the system itself. It would allow people who currently own a switch and want an upgrade to double dip on a dock. Or for new owners they get the switch and the new dock. This way they can lower the barrier of entry for existing owners to upgrade. The base dock is sitting pretty at an MSRP of around $90 brand new. They could easily get away with charging $150-179 for that dock separately. It may even encourage multiple "plus dock" purchases.

I had a dream about owning the new Switch you call "Switch Plus", but in my dream it was called "Switch Up". Woke up and thought "that's a great name, 'up' for upgrade and a 'switching it up' wordplay". Hire me Nintendo
