I have tried Shadow. Its very weird being able to play Battlefield V on your phone. But you can only play your games you own. Its nice for playing a highend game on a PC that can't meet the specs.
Hypothetical Disgruntled Viewer (HDV): *sits down to watch Inside Gaming and relax after cleaning dog waste from the carpet*
Lawrence: *titles video the most concerning thing for an average viewer to read*
"...when actually, it's much worse than you thought!" [paraphrased]
HDV: "Well shit, I can't afford games..."
Lawrence: "Here's a dog! :D"
HDV: "Damnit, that's exactly why I was just cleaning the carpet! Don't eat that."
Lawrence: "But don't worry it's only going to be the exorbitant amount of money that most people already pay for games that you've been cheating with Steam sales for a decade and a half. Here's another dog that's gonna shit on your carpet!" [paraphrased]
HDV: "Shit, I can't even afford a dog or this carpet cleaner..."
"C'mere boy." *loads rifle*
Lawrence: "Don't mind if I do!"
Thanks for saying all this. I've been thinking most of it for a long while.
Though. one notable additional issue that went unaddressed was the fact that people will often want to replay a game a few years later, which is no additional cost if you have your own copy, but requires continued payment if on a service.
