That makes a lot of sense, from what I've studied in psych grad school. Many of the symptoms of arousal are very similar to the symptoms of fear: heightened blood pressure, sweaty palms, harder to breathe, that feeling of butterflies in the stomach, goosebumps, and others. I'd be really interested in looking at the research mentioned in this episode. Any links to sources?
I was not prepared for those last 10 seconds, omg.
Interesting look at the psychology of horror.
I am not a horror fan by any means, but I will watch the fuck out of people getting scared (and get scared myself yes) playing scary games (Thanks AH and also right now BC for the month of fear 😐)
as someone with a degree in Neuroscience (albeit a bachelor's) I am so happy to see it brought up in any pop culture or hobbies. Great video keep doing stuff like this!
So,.. with that being said,.. have we just cracked the code for serial killers? Are we going to hand this over to John Hopkins for follow-ups? Will my horror collection have me publicly fed to christians? Or can we get on with our lives and keep enjoying seasonal re-works of original wallet wringers?
