Is this why they made the emoji movie? To hype up the grand feature of the 1k iPhone?
More like to outsource production of the sequel. Apple will just record all of the five people who will use this thing and make it into a movie using iMovie.

My Samsung Gear S3 Smartwatch can make calls without connecting to a phone. It has it's own number and everything. That came out almost a year ago. The future has already come.
Agreed.I was live tweeting the event for work. When they mentioned the "swipe up" for apps access I tweeted something like - See it's simple, swipe up... just like Google Now. With a No shade, no tea GIF for emphasis. The charging mats have been out it seems forever and Samsung's watches have been pretty good. Even Fossil has a great Android Gear option. The health apps seemed cool, but now that I think about it, my Samsung did a lot before I lost it.

Personally I just miss the days when game consoles just played games, phones called, and watches told you the time. I feel like technology peaked around 2010 and since then, companies are just changing things for the sake of changing them. Look at Youtube's new layout. It adds nothing. It just spaces everything out. Removing a headphone jack is not a feature, and mocap smiley faces aren't worth $1000.
So can we get an episode from The Know done entirely in animojis? Only way I can see the $1k price point worthwhile.
My favorite headline was it was the Note 8 with animated emojis.

The number nine isn't special in Asian culture as far as I know. Four is the unlucky number (they'll skip that floor like the west skips thirteen). They most likely used X because it's the ten year anniversary of the first iPhone. And eight is considered lucky so might as well release an iPhone 8 alongside the X I suppose

Seriously though, the games looked cool and they almost had me with the watch updates, other than that it was a snoozefest for me. But I'm pretty firmly #TeamAndroid planted, although my computer of choice is a Mac. Android has their missteps too.
When Apple announced the new screen though all I could hear was that cha-ching for Samsung since their producing the screens. The event itself was cool and I know the new lineup will be enjoyed by many.
