Sorry I can't unsee it now:
Linkdump: PQube takes game down in "Thailans"
I guess it's true that the game's no longer on Thai LANs either! ;)
woooow, that FIFA price comparison's gotta be the most garbage comparison I've seen all month, adding the entire price of the console to the ownership version, as if their game's so special that it's the only reason anyone would ever get one (and then conviniently not adding any hardware costs to the streamed version).
Let's be real. It's $60 to $10/month, meaning that if you play the game for more than 6 months (which, btw, is always the goal for muliplayer games these days, getting gamers hooked on their game for longer and longer periods of time), you're out $10 for every month beyond that.
I understand the convinience of just getting access to something for a while to try it out. It's like extended renting, that's fine, whatever. But playing it off like their not trying to screw people out of more money's just obnoxous.
I don't know if the "access only, no ownership" future they want so much will ever truely exist beyond small pockets, but they're gonna try their hardest to make it happen, and I ain't hav'n none of it.
I think the X-Men series is doing great on its own. It's the only series Fox hasn't fucked up too bad that I can think of. I know it'll be years until Marvel get around to making a movie with them, but... I just love the X-Men movies and don't to see them rebooted. It would be cool if Marvel had all their properties back though.
At level 1300 in overwatch, at least 25% of the games have a comment from someone comparing my gold level to gold SR and I'm just like, "WHO CARES?"
In a way Stan Lee is right. Based on the terms of their agreement, if any studio with rights to a Marvel character doesn't make a film about them within a certain amount of time, the rights automatically go back to Marvel Studios. It's why Fox made sure to release a Spiderman and X-Men film every few years. It's pretty much the movie right equivalent of "If you don't use it, you lose it."
