On the vega cards you had the prices backwards, the 64 is the $500 and the 56 is the $400. Benchmarks have shown the 56 to be very competitive with 1070 cards, which if the price stays at 400 could be a big deal since most 1070 cards get bought up by cryptominers and what's left has seen price inflation. And while the 1070 seems to edge out the vega 56 in benchmarks when it comes to gaming, the 56 seemed pull ahead when it came to computing. Also games are more tailored to working with nvidia's pascal platform, as they have been the superior card. Given time the Vega platform could be more efficiently used as developers and games acclimate with updates.
