Did Studio Interference RUIN Suicide Squad?

Really not excited for this movie...

I think part of the problem is that movies, especially the big name actors, cost to much money to make. No one should get paid as much as some of them get.

Watched it a few hours ago, worse than I expected and I didn't expect much. I'm not sure whether it was as bad or worse than Fantastic Four.

Honestly they just put in too many characters and the scenes were extremely fragmented and constantly explaining why and what was happening rather than actually just going through with the movie. Unlike Batman v Superman I also felt like the videography side lacked as well. In the recent mass of Capeshit movies, especially Civil War it felt like the 3D actually contributed to the movie, in Suicide Squad it seemed like there were too many cheap and out of place in-your-face effects. Also it seems like the forced PG-13 rating made the whole movie suffer enormously. All the enemies crumbled into Legos.

I like Suicide Squad and I believe Margot Robbie and Will Smith managed to keep the movie from being a disaster somewhat. I still don't think Will Smith was a very good choice for Deadshot and his recent movies haven't been the best but he's still a great actor. Now, on the baddies, the main villain of the whole thing seemed to have played a lesser part than Batman did and the end itself was all but cathartic.

tl;dr: I think the movie suffered from too many characters, too many origin/explanation scenes, poor writing and most of all its PG-13 rating.

I think people are putting too much stock in movie reviews instead of seeing it for themselves and having their own opinion.

But it sucks that some people can't afford to see every movie they would like to see, so they feel they need too since they want to get there moneys worth and won't be able to see another one in awhile.

I know that is the way with me, but I see it more as a gamble, whether I'll like this movie or not. Either way it something that I'll have to live with.

The biggest issue is taking an established franchise from one medium and trying to shoe horn all that history and story into a single film. Batman vs Superman could have been so much better if it had been the end of a series of films rather than a first meeting. The Flash and Arrow could be used as gateways into the films if used properly as we have already seen a version of the suicide squad in Arrow.
The studios tend to try and make the films accessible for everyone which generally takes away from what made it a good/great story in the first place, I mean with most of the stories they try and do it has already been in print for god knows how many years and it is story boarded already so most of their work is already done before they even choose a cast. Trying to be to ambitious catches them out as well, Civil War for example should have been a lot bigger in terms of characters for it to be done properly and the studios would have had to do a lot more films/tv series to flesh out these characters so that the film could have been done properly. However this is just my opinion lol

I saw it tonight - and you know something? It was great! Absolutely fine - and everything I expected AND wanted. Just go and enjoy it!

I actually really liked Suicide Squad. The movie was fun and had some really good moments and, while there was some weird pacing, it had an enjoyed energy to it. I think the reviews of the film are far too harsh and I unfortunately think many of those harsh reviews are a result of people being upset about the stories going around about Leto. I've even heard a few people insist that they wouldn't see the movie at all because of those stories, which probably also hurt the film.

I would be more interested in this if DC was using the established actors from the CW shows playing the characters in the TV universe. Having two simultaneous universes with different people playing the same roles is not going to work.
