If Nintendo is striving to be more of a entertainment company I'd bet that they would take the Marvel approach and just create their own film studio rather than trust in anyone else anymore.
I would much rather have a Samus movie or show.
Does Nintendo consider the works and successes made by the Pokemon Company a stepping stone? Or are these companies to different from one another despite their gaming overlap? I honestly am not too excited by the idea of Nintendo movies, I'd like to see some new quality games though.
the Pokemon movies are technically based on the anime rather then the games, which are far enough apart that they don't count as video game movies.
That is true. What I meant was that the majority of the movies in the past were based on the show, which was fairly different from the games. Plus Origins is relatively new, and Nintendo is kind of slow moving as a company. But you are right, I forgot about that.
Well at least they aren't going live action. That alone is a stroke of genius that nearly everyone else has failed to have.
I agree that they're pretty far apart, but what about the Origins(?) season where the anime was a reflection of the events in games? Also some of the more recent "Movies" in the series were used to echo the main Legendary pokemon and their "legends"?
I'm all about the Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider. When she gets on the boat out of the water... [Homer drooling over donut expression]
I think if Nintendo want's to try again at a film universe skip the plumbers and go with some of their franchise's that can have backstory still. Like Legend of Zelda there is a rich history to draw from that stays fairly regular throughout the iterations, or Metroid which could be made in a more adult audience realm.
I just want a video game movie to be good... We just need one Spiderman for video games to break through the industry and spearhead the next generation of movies
Pixels was a bad movie but not as bad as most people say it is. Pixels is watchable and Funny sometimes. While Super Mario Bros is neither of those things. Basically a 2-3 star film vs a 0-1 star film
