Personally I've payed all the Ratchet and Clank games except the new one and saw the movie and I really enjoyed it. I felt that it had the same humor that the games do, which I'm very happy about. The cg was absolutely incredible. They had the voice actors from the games in it. I feel that the only issues are that it released after the game, it should have come out before, that it's release is surrounded by much bigger names, like the Jungle Book and Civil War, and that Sony really dropped the ball on marketing the movie. Which are all problem with the studio and not about the movie itself. All I'm saying is that I've been a fan of Ratchet and Clank for a long time, saw it, and really liked it. Also, Ashley, don't compare Ratchet and Clank to those god awful Fantastic Four movies. Or at least see the movie so you have your own opinion on it before you make claims like that. That's not cool bra.
I actually liked this movie. I hope the reviews don't badly impact the production of the Sly Cooper movie.
Maybe the lesson to be learn here is not to put out a movie tie in game that has most of the sense's in it before your video game movie hits the screen.
I think the issue with a lot of movies based on video games is that they based on the story already told and unlike when they are adapted from books you already know what it looks like there is no new visual and you loss the element of control.
This is the same reason I still have faith in the AC movie coming out later this year, it takes place in a time we haven't seen with a new character.
I liked the movie but I think the original games would have worked better.
Reminds me of when Ubisoft released two Assassin's Creed games on the same day.
Surely that can only hurt sales.
To be honest, I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've heard about a Ratchet and Clank movie, so it sounds like someone may have dropped the ball as far as advertising, which is a big enough reason to see bad box office numbers in and of itself.
But the movie was great. Hell, I personally liked it more than the game story-wise, since some of the game's cutscenes felt a little... rushed? Cut-short?
But yeah, I don't get how people (fans especially) could say this movie sucks. Only thing I can think is that those fans care way more for gameplay than the games' stories. Like they're the type that just skip all the scenes and bash enemies without knowing why they're bashing enemies.
the ratchet and clank movie did not do well, forgive me for laughing because im not surpised.
Meh. I don't give cridics much stock. The ticket sales are concerning, but that shouldn't be taken as a sign of quality either.
