The video card is most of the expense when making a PC. Mainly if you go for high end. The best are always around $600 or so. And everything that came before it gets pushed down in price dramatically.

That makes sense given that over 500 was cheep for a new one. I'm noticing this all because I'm planning to get a PC to start playing WoW again and some Paradox grand strategy games and the price of it all is hurting my brain.

Yeah, that's the thing about building a PC. But it also lets you play so many things, especially if you build a good one. So it's worth it if you're really dedicated to gaming. You can get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Price still hurts, though. Just have to decide if it's worth it to you.
