please switch out ryan.....
I don't believe anyone who says they've played every Final Fantasy. There's 83 games, all about 100 hours each. Either you haven't played all of them, or you haven't left your house since 2004.
Also I think 10-2 was atrocious. Essentially it's a girl, her cousin, and a stranger playing dressup to bring her boyfriend back from the dead so she can break up with him 2 years later in the canon sequel to a fanfic. For me, FF10 and the "good" ending of 10-2 are all that are canon. Sorry to be the obnoxious purist.
Most probably talking about the main numbered titles.
Also...hundred hours each game? No they ain't.
Please stop talking about things you don't know.
Fine. Let's lowball it and say 30 hours each. That's still 100 days straight with no breaks.
I've played through all of them, how'd you like that? Your number is off by about a half, considering that there are spin-off games that aren't actually FF games, but branded as such here in the west (like SaGa for example), and there are quite a lot of older spin-offs that never got a release outside of Japan. They're also not 100 hours long, not even remotely. I can basically come up with a handful of examples that are over 50 hours long, with the vast majority of the games being no more than about 30 hours long.
So with, let's say, 10 of those a bit over 40 games being 50 hours and the rest being 30 hours, that comes up to roughly two months or so. And if you're a big fan of the series and have been playing the games for the last two decades, like I am and I have, then that's laughably easy to do. If availability wasn't a problem, you could throw in the Japan exclusive games and it wouldn't make a difference in terms of time consumption.
Also, don't worry, you're not an obnoxious purist, you're just an obnoxious fanboy. Complete with the "I don't like this so I'm gonna say it's not canon! Take that!". Oh boy.
I don't like the audiodrama that's a sequel to an "accidentally published" fanfic that invalidates everything you did in the last 2 games, brings back Sin after 4 years instead of 10, and ends in a cliffhanger with no plans to continue the series. Is that really so extreme considering people consider the Star Wars prequels non-canon?
im playing ff8 as they talk about it... and let me tell you.. ff8's combat is the most broken and some of the plot makes me hate it.. but i still love it
The plot is only bad because Squall's dying after being stabbed in the heart by Edea.
And the combat does suck.
Well fuck. I am actually pretty late in the game. Just finished FF8, now doing 7... For the first time for both of them. GOD DAMN SPOILER DUDES PLEASE! No but seriously I've never played any of the games and I knew she dies
Thought: There has been a problem with people doing silent playthroughs of story driven games that kinda makes buying the game pointless, right? (this is kinda building off the rachet and clank idea) but what if for the games the developer also releases a "movie" version of the game for a few bucks to people who dont want to bother/ dont have the time to play it but still want to experience the story. It would be easy to make a movie once the game is finished and you could even remove the hud and get some better camera angles.
Golden sun was the first videogame i ever owned. I got it with my Gameboy advanced for christmas.
FF9 just realised on steam, £15.99. the prices are wayy too high for games 15+ yrs old
Golden Sun (and the Lost Age) were absolutely spectacular. Loved them to bits!
13 was fine. 13-2 was... playable. 13-3...no, just no.
I enjoyed and got my money out of all of them (full $60). Even though the story could be weak in certain parts I loved the battle system for some reason. The only part I hated the entire trilogy was when a male character opened their mouth.
huh, useally people put it the other way around :p
Sherry Kawcross!
Jotun is pronounced Yotun...Call Thor a bad movie, but it taught me words!
Beat me to it haha
Great thing about Rune Factory that Ashley may like is that nearly every enemy in the game including bosses can be tamed and become pets that can help out with farming or combat, there are even some that you can ride on like dragons.
