PS4 Pro Worth Upgrading? - #172

I was just listening to this and not watching. I heard "I'm Ray" and got excited, looked, and was disappointed not to see a brown man.

The touch buttons were never a cool idea. They were always stupid and annoying.

I've been reading on other sites that one of the big issues with the HDR firmware update for ps4 is the fact that the HDMI for the playstation 4 is 1.4 and for anything needing HDR as it currently is it needs 2.0a HMDI port to be able to provide the transfer rate needed for HDR over an HDMI cable. And since Sony is doing a software option for HDR it's likely that it won't be as good HDR done through both Software and Hardware, making there version of it more of a gimmick(not like it already isn't one anyway).

Just so you guys know, 4k actually does make a difference on 1080 displays because of chroma sampling. Most videos you see are 4:2:0 and when the 4k downscales it'll appear as 4:4:4 or 4:2:2. If you don't understand that it's basically saying that instead of sharing chroma data between pixels(all pixels have their own luma data), every pixel has its own chroma data as well, making the image look less compressed. This usually makes 4k on 1080 look way sharper than on a 4k display. Also, as someone who has a 4k display, I've hooked my cinema camera to my monitor and seen uncompressed 4k and it looks almost exactly like 1080, just a little sharper and more noise.

As an MBA student who has at least one group presentation per class, collaborative PowerPoint is actually something I'm interested in. But I get that I'm in the minority lol.

Do people with the name Ray just have high gamerscore? All jokes aside i enjoyed his company in this patch episode.
