The video clip is 1h0m53s and the mp3 is 1h17m21s. I don't understand.
The Patch Game Club is included in the audio format.
Adam never got to talk about Overwatch :(
You guys don't really seem to know your stuff when it comes to Square Enix's franchises. Kingdom Hearts III has not been in development for over 10 years, and it has actually only been in development since late 2012, so for four years or a bit less. Final Fantasy XV hasn't also been "in development" for over a decade. Parts of FF Versus XIII (which began production in 2006) were reused for FF XV (mainly just story stuff and such), but the two are different productions, which is stressed by the developers themselves as well. FF XV started production around 2012 as well.
This is true. though i disagree on Versus XIII and XV being different productions. When your characters, themes and story carry across it can easily be considered working on the same game. Look at the original FFXIV, crashed and burned, was redone and reworked in its entirety to be playable. Those are both the same game, despite having seperate develpment cycles (new teams altogether) and the games playing nothing like each other in any way.
Not all of the characters, story and themes carried over from Versus. Basically, or at least very close to, none of the themes the game was supposed to portray did, and the overall story was refitted to work in a main series title, along with the characters as well (some of being even being removed due to not working in the new environment). And that's just of what little they had made for Versus at the time, not of the entirety that was meant to be in the final game. And again, that's just the narrative - there's still also the rest of the game. Every concrete asset of Versus was scrapped (obviously) and every game mechanic rethought and reworked. Basically the only thing that remained was the very, very general concept of it being an action RPG. Stuff like that has also been done a lot in not only the series but in gaming in general - using parts of a scrapped previous project for a completely new project. It's nothing out of the ordinary, and as actual development projects, the two games are still very much considered two different ones.
As for FF XIV, that's a different thing, and it's all the same game. A Realm Reborn (the relaunch) was effectively an expansion that relaunched and reworked a lot of the game in addition to that. The original release is still a part of the same broader FF XIV game, and titled Legacy, just like the next one is A Realm Reborn and so on. It's also all a part of the same development, and they didn't switch teams (although that wouldn't really matter in the end). The only thing that changed was a couple of lead developers (mainly Tanaka stepped down and Yoshida took over), but for the majority, the team remained the same. A Realm Reborn and Legacy also do not play "nothing like each other in any way" (I guess you haven't played both of them?) but that's hardly on topic anymore.
the mannequin in green underwear behind Burnie, is "presenting" very well indeed :)
Burnie if you read this, for Fallout Shelter you could edit the save file for it to make it similar to your phone save. Alternatively you can transfer from an Android Phone to PC. Now I know you don't use Android but perhaps you could use the Cloud save from your Iphone to get it on a Android device you have? If you could then you could just plug it up to your PC and copy the file over. No editing is required, it's compatable with both systems.
I was waiting for someone to tell Ryan he'd dropped his sunglasses, nope they stayed there the entire time, just on the floor in the bottom right corner.
All i have to say is.... Endless Legend
"everyone had VR headsets." no not really, its a huge minority. The average person that doesn't work at a company based in tech and video did not get a vr headset.
I agree. I'm getting sick of them assuming everybody is playing and interested in VR. I think that this podcast has become too VR focused considering all of them use it now.
Adam is my gentle giant.
More Adam on the Patch!
guess i'm in camp #2, i love Civ but this looks like a bad mobile game...
