We Blackmail XCOM? - #143

For XCom 2: Turning off VSync helped out the frame rates a good bit, more so with the curscenes. Still seems to be a little bit of framerate drops (I think? I'm not very computer savvy), but very much more bareable.

Misleading/incorrect description, they didn't talk about Overwatch at all. The word 'overwatch' mentioned is a move that you can use in the game XCOM. If there's some chance I missed it, anyone got a time stamp?

I was waiting for Gus to talk about XCOM! I've been loving it and I want to hear how he feels about it.

Was Gus's voice sped up during the squarespace read? Because his voice got weirdly high-pitched during that part specifically.

I agree with Ryan, most of the Games for Gold games I don't even bother downloading. It's more like sometimes someone handing you a cheeseburger, but most of the time someone handing you a hamburger bun with nothing else.

X-Com 2 is amazing, glad to hear they love it. The missions do always feel like they are timed, but playing Enemy Within makes this a lot easier. The game seems harder, yet it really does give you a ton of things to use for yourself. And yes, you can reload for your first action and fire still. Which helped me out when a UFO took me down.

Though it's unlikely, I kind of hope that AAA developers start using smaller budgets in their games since increasing production costs are often cited as a problem in the industry. With good art direction, lower fidelity graphics can still look great and they tend to age better as well. When a game tries to blow you away with MAX GRAFIX the novelty wears off quick and I feel like all that money is wasted anyway.
