TO answer the question about what my favorite thing about games, is definitely the ability to play with friends, especially locally. I would 100 times over rather play a shitty game with 4 friends on a couch, than sit alone and play Fallout 4.
I love Miles and Jeremy of course, but why are they on? It sounds like Meg and Ashley are in the office and that this was planned.
No hate, just wondering.
Really, Miles? You're REALLY defending Arin on his OoT Sequilitis?
In my Skyrim house I put all the books I collected in a barrel. Sometimes I still boot it up just to go read stories. Yeah I could do that online, but there's something about having it in game that just makes it feel more immersive.
That said, can you imagine doing that in VR? Just sit on your couch and read a virtual book in a video game world, awesome.
Did you ever play the PC version of Oblivion? I am sure there was a version in Skyrim as well, but in the testing hall, they placed all the books of a game into a library room of sorts where you could walk around and pick up a book and read. In Skyrim, it may have just been a chest, or you could have gone to the Library in the College, but it was always nice to see the work the characters have put in to make a life in just written word inside of the games.
I always liked looking into the series books. Keeping a collection coherent and learning a bit of lore around the world I was destroying/creating in equal parts. But every aspect of gaming I think could be enhanced this way, crafting, cooking, a physical bartering system and location in MMO's, down to even simply not relying on stat weights for things like stealth instead line of sight and lighting that you could look down and recognize. We're still scratching the surface in my opinion but we're inching closer and closer to 1:1 immersion, and I can't wait
Love to see Miles on more podcasts!
Miles, I fucking live for co-op games. Let's play sometime.
Seeing Duncan and Robert as huge fans of Warcraft makes me feel like the film is in great hands. Really hope it's good!
I agree completly, but I do wish they were making it full cg rather then live action.
Full cg is extremely expensive
It is? How does Pixar release so many?
Yea, the BoS in Fallout 4 were assholes. I'm working on getting the last few achievements in Fallout 4, and I'm dreading having to be nice to the Brotherhood.
Man this was a perfect cast! Really getting in depth to just what they enjoy in video games and such a strong knowledge of the history
I think they should do the World War III package, which would be remastered versions of Modern Warfare, 2, & 3, along with a single multiplayer for all that has the maps from each game.
It was nice hearing you guys talk about how important stories in games are, and how crucial they are when when it comes to drawing you in. After having that issue come up in Dudesoup, where they all cite stories in games as irrelevant and awful compared to other mediums.
