It's funny they mention tablets. Maybe it's because they've heard this news already but a Blizzard exec said that they weren't sure about another Warcraft strategy game and that they feel mobile is still an untapped market.
Does Adam not like Ryan? Every time he is on he makes it his mission to disagree with everything that Ryan says, to the point were he is disagreeing before Ryan is even finished talking.
Dishonored's DLC (Knife of Dunwall & Brigmore Witches) ran parallel with the main game following the assassin Daud
I'm so happy that "Broad Trip" is a term now. And I also just realized that there's no good way to write that term down. B-road Trip? Bro-ad Trip?
I honestly found Aiden more likeable then any of the characters in Watch_Dogs 2. Granted, that's more of a statement of how much I dislike the direction of 2's story more then a complement to Aiden. He sucked as a character, but the people in 2 are worse.
I wonder if the overall game sales decreased at all. I think maybe there's a level of saturation in games that it may have reached, that people just arent as interested in AAA titles anymore, or they may stick to a certain game (like overwatch) for longer periods of time that it doesnt justify buying games like CoD, Titanfall, or Watchdogs. I have no data to back up what I'm saying, but that's just my take on it.
I think the problem with those three titles in particular was
a) CoD is still pushing the futuristic war genre way too much and most gamers are sick of it and it being an annual title probably doesnt help it's cause much
b) Titanfall 1 was an XBox One exclusive, which Microsoft hyped into oblivion and back, now that TF2 is multi platform, it wasn't as heavily advertised and most people who didn't play the first might not have even known a sequel was being released
c) Watch Dogs 1 was complete garbage so that negative reputation hurt WD2
Also factor that they all launched within a few weeks of each other, also had to compete with Battlefield 1 and Gears of War 4, it's safe to say there is definitely an over saturation of shooter based titles right now (side note this is probably one reason why Skyrim remastered has sold so well, it was pretty much the only non shooter title other than Pokémon that launched recently so it stood out)
Its got to a point for myself that I refuse to spend 80-100$ on a brand new game. For one, that's a absurd amount of money to spend on a single game and second, most games go on sale for 30-40% within the first couple months after launch-so will just buy it then.
As has been pointed out previously, it's actually an interesting claim that 100$ is too much to spend on a game.
Long story short, while video game production (especially AAA titles) costs have gone up, consumers refuse to pay more than ~$60 initially, a price set somewhere in the past after games were 100-120$ but before inflation really kicked into gear. This conundrum is what has likely driven some of the more disliked practices of late, including DLC gouging and shorter games with cut content.
It'd be like, say, if you had a lemonade stand, and lemons slowly went up in price, but consumers demanded each glass cost the original amount. Either you'd have to accept a loss in profit (costing people, perhaps yourself, jobs), or start charging for extraneous goods, like sugar. The sugar pricing may upset the average consumer, and not including it the original product may leave said product with a sour taste, but it's the closest to a compromise both sides can reach. The producer is trying to relive the old days, in terms of profit, just as much as you're trying to relive them in terms of expense.
On the sale front, though, I completely understand. I don't have the kind of time to spend beating a series of video games, but when I did (and will in the future) I often had to rely on Humblebundle and such to "store up" for the cold months between steam sales.
Adam is just massive.
