Analysts are predicting a massive under-performance for Battlefield this year. Twitch is dropping one of its major perks for Twitch Prime members. Former BioWare developers have banded together to create a new game.
I am looking forward to Battlefield V and Red Dead 2 and I don't have either pre-order but for me it's because I don't pre-order anything anymore. Depending on coverage and if a game looks well enough I will pre-order it... A week from release but not at announcement.
Editor fucked up at 2:30. This is what, a 50/50 whether a vid will be misedited in some way at this point? Seriously have never seen it this bad before.
@OniZonda That's not the point. Anyone who thought it was dumb that an amputee woman was the front-runner for a game set in ww2, when women didn't fight in any significant number were deemed as sexist. And in a game franchise that has claimed immersion in its setting. History is about what happened. Not comfortable narratives.
@Zawhomafu because Battlefield is a documentary? While women fighters were not in the same numbers as men, you can't forget people like Lyudmila Mikhailovna or the resistance fighters in occupied territories. Women played an invaluable role in the war effort. If you want to complain about historical accuracy, start with the robo-arm or how the game will turn into everyone running around with automatic weapons. Just like in Battlefield 1 and COD.
@JustVlad Battlefield is not a documentary but they have claimed a sense of realism in prior games. And yes while the efforts of the sniper is impressive, it was also an extremly rare case. The actual organizations that comprised of resistance fighters were rarly if ever more then 100 strong exept in italy. Women were undeniably vital. It was the first time in the west they entered the workforce in great numbers and did an incredible feat. But they were not soldiers who died and sacrificed thier lives on the battlefilelds of europe in signifigant numbers. This whole situation reeks of gamergate. Games "journalists" labelling anyone who disagrees with them as sexists and lumping them in with a small minority of people who actually deserve the title.
If I'm not getting ad free viewing and I don't get 20% off my pre-order, I'm just gonna not pay for prime anymore. Lose-lose situation. Most of what I get these days is digital, but I do get physical only because I get the discount and I can give the game to my friend once I'm done with it. Also, the turbo subscription isn't more expensive, it's actually cheaper by about $5, but you don't get a free sub with it so it's about equal in terms of ad free and 1 sub per month. If they're gonna remove features, I'm not gonna pay since I can't use those features anymore. It's almost time to abandon ship on Twitch as a platform anyway. I know everyone's on it, but with the toxicity and the changes that are being made solely to squeeze more money out of everyone, it's not quite as useful as it used to be. Where to go after this? Well, RTX was streamed on Mixer, might be worth a shot for everyone to look at it.
The Fable Legends formula was pretty solid honestly, I played the alpha and it was decently fun, though the balance was all over the place. It wasn't just the formula that killed Fable Legends, it was the fact that Microsoft spent 75 million + dollars on a free to play game with a pretty high specs target. I always thought Fable Legends would have worked better with more of a Hero Dolls / Fable Heroes kind of look.
Anyway, Breach seems like it'll be fun, hope it does well.
Ditching the Amazon discount for preorders removes all incentive to preorder games for me. With the 20% off, you were balancing the risk of getting a shitty game with the benefit of saving money on it. Absolutely no reason to take that gamble still when I'm paying full price; I can just wait for it to go on sale or get it used...
