Rockstar Games employees discuss their experiences with crunch inside the company, Blizzard teases some Diablo related news at this year's Blizzcon, after 50 years the original actor and puppeteer behind Big Bird is finally retiring, and more!
@robobagpiper that's what I thought. Probably just an oversight in the writing of this video then. I was confused for a while and almost watched it again just to see what her name was. Not a bad movie, but I would've completely missed why I would be watching it again.
@OniZonda Well, *prior* to the movie's release, they went out of the way trying to confuse people on the issue.
To be honest, I think they were trying to gin up some controversy in some quarters by provoking outrage that MJ was now a Latina, then provoking other people to cry "racism", and generate buzz for the movie that way (because that marketing strategy worked so well for Ghostbusters...).
Glad to see RS employees speaking out, a lot of people are blowing this out of proportion and speaking on behalf of developers. Anyone who has ever been passionate about a project may understand the sense of pride and ownership that comes with working on something awesome. Wanting to spend extra time making sure it not only meets the expectations of others, but one's own standards of perfection is understandable. Artists everywhere can relate to spending sleepless nights on a project. It's what you do when you are passionate about something. Now work/life balance is important, but it's also a relative subject that differs from person to person. Anyone here remember how much Monty busted his ass working on RvB and RWBY? Burnie mentioned that it was like Monty was trying to create as much as he could because he somehow knew he didn't have that much time on this Earth. That stuck with me, and it helped drive me towards a dream that I am continuously chasing. The devs at Rockstar aren't slave laborers, they are innovators and the games they create are pure reflections of what a team of that caliber can produce.
