It goes without saying, but we have lost an amazing talent in TotalBiscuit. Though at times he would say things that I would strongly disagree with, I would always be willing to listen because to describe him as anything less than a pioneer of the industry would do a disservice to him and his memory. You see more stories coming out now but it is so interesting how he was so influential in so many different ways to so many different people. To some, he was a mentor and a friend, others he helped with their youtube/ online career, some he had played a few games with, there were some that are popular now that listened to his content for influence. I found him through his "WTF is..." series and I just remember him going through a laundry list of options (you know, the ones that 96% of them most of us have no idea what the are) and he just rattled each one of them off one by one on every part of the settings screen and I was blown away by how incredibly smart this man clearly was. This would lead me to watching the co-optional podcast for awhile until I fell off of it for awhile and then would eventually comeback to it summer of last year. At that time, I was looking to potentially buy a steam game known as "Chroma Squad" and was really unsure if I wanted to make the purchase or not and was trying to get as many opinions as possible before buying. It just so happened that I was able to catch one of the podcasts live on twitch and just on a whim asked in one of the chats if I should get the game and one of the people on screen saw it and said "hey does anyone know if this person should get chorma squad?" to which TB said "you should get it, it's gooood!".... I did... not only is it my only steam game that I have perfected.... but I played through the games 6 times because I enjoyed it so much! I followed him on steam as well and would know that his opinions were always trustworthy if not completely on the nose as well. Beyond my story, his influence reached far and wide (as some may already know) he was involved with pro leagues (SC2, Overwatch league, many others), created a ton of online content (obviously), and had support from the gaming community, the WWE (or at least Samoa Joe), game devs, and so many others (as he very much deserved as you keep reading more stories people tell of how he helped them personally). He was someone that always seemed to look out for others, whether it be his friends, his family, small creators, or just consumers in general! His loss is very much a sad one and he will be greatly missed and if you have the time, type "total biscuit" in the search bar on twitter and read through all the stories of how he helped people when they needed him. At the end of the day, love him or hate him, you always wanted to hear what he had to say because he knew he always had someone's best interest in mind aside from his own, R.I.P. TotalBiscuit.
