I don't think it's an unfair advantage cause they put the time in already. Either way, you're gonna have to put forth some effort, whether it's in Pokemon GO or Let's GO. Your odds of finding a perfect stat Pokemon in either version are relatively the same so there won't be a competitive advantage, aside from you already know you have something good (assuming they carry over the stats from P-GO). And the competitive side is just part of the game. The exploration and in-game battles are other parts so there's no advantage to be had since it's (presumably) designed to balance your power with the area you're at in the story. Completing the Pokedex is mostly just for show and is mainly a game specific achievement. As someone who is only playing Pokemon GO again because I want to be able to complete the Kanto Pokedex after all these years. I started with Yellow and I never did complete it since I was a kid. With this event going on right now, I can potentially get everything without having to leave the country.

That kind of Pokemon Go integration is what I've been afraid of once the initial details were released, and is what's kept me in the "will wait to buy" category. And the mention of leveling your pokemon only through candy and mini games doesn't sound very appealing on paper
