Is Burnie trying to start a Food War with Blaine? Go for double danger over time!
I agree on the point that Piracy can, sometimes, be free marketing. I know that there are many people who would never even think of this, but I recently purchased 2 games that I had been playing for a while, admittedly it was mainly for the convinience of having them in my steam library, But I also thought that they deserved the money quality of the games and I had the money to get them.
These days you can't be sure a game you buy will actually work, and you can't be sure you'll get a refund. Working game I want to play = sale for the publisher.
i have pirated games before but only the big titles simply because it fair amount of money and with so many games coming out broken and unplayable for some *cough* Batman. i used it to test whether the game is actually worth the money and if it is i will buy the game.
Good!
People that pirate games and make excuses to try and justify their illegal behaviour are silly. You're a scumbag if you pirate games. Just admit it. Stop lying to yourself.
I pirated when I was teenager and justified with all the usual excuses i.e. I ended up paying for content I liked but ultimately I was just a scumbag who couldn't afford things. Thankfully I grew up and learned how the world worked. Sorry, but you don't deserve to have something just because other people have it, or you really want it. Earn your money and do research on what should your hard earned cash.
I don't know much about pirating games, never have done that myself that much, like couple of times but bought the game anyway, but pirating movies is 100% justifiable.
I live in Finland, so I don't have services like Hulu and Netflix never has any fucking movies that are online easily. Seasons come at worst a year fucking late, Prison Break and I think Lost were these shows. Am I suppose to avoid internet for a full year to avoid spoilers? Then after, another year again without internet, because the season again comes late a full year. Pirating movies is 100% justifiable for me. Even pirating Lazer Team for me was justifiable because it wasn't available to my country in anyyyy fucking way. With that said, I ended up then buying the movie because I got the chance finally.
Again, I don't know much about game pirating, but pirating movies and tv-shows is justifiable for me.
I feel like this is more of a test to see if pirating actually affects sales numbers so companies can stop whining.
The constant theory crafting around pirating is absurd.
I buy all my games, though.
