Well, I'm gonna go whack it out of spite.
Utah is also the highest consumer of porn in the U.S. What a great state I live in.
Oh, Utah. It's too bad that the beauty of this state doesn't quite outweigh the stupidity of those in charge...
Found dad's playboy stash in his closet when I was a kid. The better story is when I walked in the den and my dad was clearly printing porn photos from the internet. He immediately told me to get out LoL
Yes! Finally! A list of most suckish states in a category, and one dealing with education to boot, and Louisiana isn't even in the top 5! I never thought this day would come!
I am psychology major who has been studying Human Sexuality (specifically in regard to education) and right now psychologist believe the only effects of pornography are unrealistic expectations of sex and sexual social scripts and (like all media) desensitization to the content.
By desensitization that could for instance mean a person who watches lots of porn may not be as shocked by seeing promiscuous action in real life if they see it in their pornography. That Desensitization is true for all media and content whether it be violence on tv or bondage in a book.
The expectations comes into play by giving different expectations of how people should look, act, or behave in sexual situations. This could cause anything from people feeling insecure because they don't look like the pornstars to misreading a situation as someone wanting sex when they do not. This is especially true for those who don't get knowledge of sex anywhere else as their parents may not give them the talk and those who may not have decent sex education.
"Why am I watching a woman eat cor- ohhhhhhh..."
I would be so much happier if these random clips were all from PornHub's "CornHub" April Fool's joke.. Please let it be true!!
It is
What I got out of this video is that Utah grows a lot of corn?
Cornography?
Don't google it. O.o
@TheSnowFox too late
So when a state mentions banning pornography or addressing it as a "public health issue", that's terrible! But when a state bans certain firearms and prohibits lawful people from buying firearms, that's okay. My rights can get shit on, but when a state mentions banning another form of entertainment, everyone is up in arms. Fuck off.
People cannot go both ways with government regulation. Either support their power or decry it. You can't have both.
The answers to your question are: Statistics and Design.
Stats
More people were killed and injured in 2015 by firearms than porn.
Design
Firearms are designed to kill things, yes sometimes bad things, but they're designed to kill.
Porn is designed to create sexual stimulation and may have some adverse affects but there is no fully proven evidence that verifies that point.
There's the difference.
Only a Sith deals in absolutions. also, define certain firearms. not going for a gun control discussion here but I feel that it is necessary to know what guns are discussed to get your point across properly
The corngraphy is making me uncomfortable. Let's ban that instead.
