While it is an impressive milestone to hit, I think the comparison, or lack thereof, of Android phones and iPhones is a bit dumb. It's not like Apple has sold a billion of a single model of iPhone, they've sold a billion of all iPhones. Just as the various companies that make Android phones haven't sold a billion of a single model. I think the facts that Android phones have more names, and are sold by more companies isn't relevant (although having the money split up does make it feel less impressive). The only good point of contention is that Android devices do cover more than just smartphones, while iPhones do not.
Regardless of my nitpick, kudos to Apple.
Sincerely, a guy that has bought an equal number of iPhones and Android phones.
I fail to see how Apple selling over 1 billion iPhones is a big deal. Especially since as stated in the video, android had reached that marker two years ago. Maybe its just because I'm not an Apple user.
Because iPhone is made by one company, its very rare that a single company sells one billion of a product. Android is composed of many companies all making different phones, and therefore isn't as impressive.
I feel like, at this point, I see more people with iPhones than androids. (Then again, I do live in Seattle, which is close to Apple base in California, and is composed of a LOT of middle and upper class people.) 1 billion is an inconceivable number. Here's to hoping that Apple uses their sales to keep creating better products, and that they don't start being cheap when it comes to phone manufacturing just because they have the monopoly over the market.
I have to ask a question, how much of these "billion" actual customers and how many are those that 'must' have each new iPhone that comes out? If we say once per generation like some people do, it would reduce the total number down to a minimum of 167 million (I rounded there so don't *itch about the math). Pretty sure the actual number of owners of the iPhone, optimistically, is between 500 million and 750 million, an impressive number to be sure.
Also, biggest computer product and camera product? Only for the Flappy Bird and selfie crowd, for the rest that demand higher performance devices, we'll be elsewhere.
Tl;dr this story is about Apple jizzing all over itself.
I would say Rooster Teeth is as good if not better than Apple.
But that is my opinion. You guys are my T.V.
And as a Windows phone user I would just be happy if my phone gets around 100,000 sold. that would be great. I wouldn't feel so alone in this architecture. Yeah all this news about apple is honestly making me consider rejoining android again.
You got one of the worst android phones but an android is still better than an iphone toy.
all i heard was gargaling
Can you guys please stop using the scream intro? Or just drop its volume. Its the loudest part of the entire video whenever its used. If you do thanks!
It's literally the same thing when comparing the fact that Android phones "are not one phone" to Apple selling 1 billion of every phone they sell total. The measure of iPhone is for ALL of the iPhone models, mind you, the only phones that run Apple OS. Android has sold significantly more phones that run Android OS. You're comparing it wrong. Saying that a Galaxy and an HTC don't count together is kind of short-sighted. It's all about OS users.
