YouTube Heroes Will DESTROY YouTube?

May GabeN watch over us in this time of worry.

I would write subtitles on one English language video a day if people would put them on the French and German pop science videos with which I trim me the tongues. Subtitles would be the best thing in tha worulda.

I feel like this program could either be a decently good thing or a reeeeeaaaallllly bad thing.

I think this won't do very well.  

Hope it will, but it is the internet.  So I have my doubts

With Youtube Heroes, how can people talk about news and the things going on in the world with all the controversial topics?

With great power comes great responsibility... And YouTube just gave that to the internet >_>

I don't think they can use the "It's my first day." Excuse here.

Remove the rewards for flagging and mass flagging. Then this might see some great use like with how Kojima's channel is already getting fan participation when adding English captions.

But mostly I just see a massive flagging war between SJW's, trolls and larger YouTube identities with the little guys suffering the most from it all by being voiceless and in the middle of it. 

They gave power to the internet...to trolls. Yeah I'm sure that's gonna end well. 

Have an unpopular opinion on this one, but other than the reporting stuff, that's not good for anyone, hopefully they'll work out a system which works a lot better when it comes to reporting people, but other than that, I think it sounds like a pretty good idea, of course it would be better if they paid them, but still rewarding fans for contributing to YouTube, and more importantly, content creators they like (with subtitles and stuff) I think is a pretty good idea. If they do the reporting properly, it should stay the same as now; you report it to YouTube, they review it, and either it gets taken down or stays up. If YouTube finds that your report was accurate, you get Hero points or whatever they're called, rather than just being able to pull down videos, or even channels yourself.

"YouTube... is this another way for you to tell us you want to kill yourself?" that's what I'd ask YouTube if it was a physical being.
