"Ross" should be given an always-online office only accessible via VR! Let "Ross" choose what he thinks he would look like as a human and allow people to visit his office in the VR-verse for proper face-to-face legal advice!
Haven't robots been stealing jobs since at least the 80's, or whenever the auto industry started making automated assembly lines.
Luddites everywhere... If only people would learn economics...
most of the time I don't click links but that was good.
The cosmos may eventually thank us for being the stepping stone, the larval stage as it were, to a higher consciousness, but I don't feel too good about being the husk that gets sloughed off.
Will we end up as Daleks, Cybermen, Borg, or just dust bunnies clinging lifelessly to the power cords of the self aware world wide web? Beats me. I guess I'll go drown my sorrow with some "delicious" Wendy's. Shh shh shhhh--go to sleep!
Hush little larva, don't say a word, Watson's gonna give you a cyber herd.
And if that cyber herd should think, Watson's gonna give you a helpful link.
And if that helpful link is broke, Watson's gonna buy you a brick of coke.
And if that coke don't trade for grass, Watson's gonna put you in cooking class.
And if that cooking class teach code, Watson's gonna write you a mind upload.
And if that mind upload break down, you're the latest larva who must go drown...sigh.
We had our ups and downs, but it was pretty good run, wasn't it, fellow humans? (Chokes back tears.)
Ok who forgot to charge the Ryan. He's powered by diet coke.
I highly doubt this is the case, but I can't help thinking that a Lawyer named Ross is inspired by Mike Ross from Suits lol.
Lovely, i'm already having enough trouble finding a summer job right now. and now i have to compete with AI. FML ugh.
I'm with Gus on this one, Give me the automatic fast-food attendant so there need be less hooman interacting there.
"Carl's Jr. Fuck you! I'm eating!"
Unless something is done about the current plutocracy then we'll be enjoying a Judge Dredd/Soylent Green dystopian future instead of the bright happy go lucky Star Trek one. Hopefully when true AI emerges, instead of exterminating us, it will keep us a pets.
I don't think real people will accept that level of stolen jobs by robots. There would be at the very least, a massive number of movements similar to Occupy Wallstreet. At worst, you'd have widespread riots. Eventually the government will be forced to enact laws preventing this to an extent. Or we can only hope.
I agree that government intervention will be necessary but I don't think it will be to stop automation. Look at driverless car technology, it will be safer, cheaper and more efficient, that one technology will eliminate millions of jobs. It will save lives and resources, I doubt that the government will vote against something like that... but it is the government.
