We Are Going Interstellar

This is awesome! Thanks for reporting on this stuff! I funded a kickstarter Bill Nye did with the Planetary Society to launch a solar sail that ran off light from stars, my name is in space now :P

So Hawking wants to send things to space but hopes no one finds us? How is he considered one of the smartest people on Earth?

This is incredibly unfeasible and crazy, I love it we need more missions and ideas like these!

For those not familiar with imperial or cosmological units (given times of first reference)

• 1:11: 4 light years = 38,000,000,000,000 km = 23,000,000,000,000 miles
• 1:31: 1/5 speed of light = 60,000 km/s = 37,000 miles/s
• 2:56: 40,000 miles per hour = 64,000 km/h
• 3:14: 17,000 miles per hour = 27,000 km/h
• 4:52: 10 ft to 12 ft = 3 m to 4 m
• 5:00 1 mile = 1.6 km
