Gather 'Round The Thanksgiving Tree - #26

I think Ryan forgot that this show goes up on Fridays and (as far as I can tell) it's not live so there is no Thanksgiving episode, therefor having a Christmas tree up in this episode makes sense when you think about it in the 4th dimension.

For narrative and music, I'd definitely recommend Nier. Honestly was not expecting the experience i had with that game. 

I’m really hoping that Glitch Please isn’t going to get canceled (again).  Not having any outside sponsors doesn’t look great, unfortunately.  There were a stretch of episodes that dipped well below 100k views on YouTube, so I imagine that scared advertisers away.

Resident evil 7 is a good game in it's own right, but as a resident evil game it's shit, there are no zombies there is no survival to it at all and after the first hour or so it's not scary any more.  Also those goop monsters are just the worst enemy ever and that's all there is.  It's not a return to form for the franchise and it drives me nuts that people think that.  I also felt it was to short but quality over quantity can make a difference.

Destiny 2 has my vote for Soundtrack of the year simply because i cant stop listening to it. I listen to it on my walk to classes or when doing hw. Its the orchestral feel of it that hooks me. As for Goty i havent played any of those titles but based on friends opinions and reviews i definitely think either Zelda or Horizon will win. I am a bit amazed Wolfenstein 2 isnt on that list based on what ive heard about that game. But I wouldnt be surprised if Pubg somehow snuck in and took the award. If Divinity 2 doesnt win Rpg of the year i will be shocked. That game imo should be the bar all RPGs should go for . Its such a good game. As for RTS im all in on Xcom 2. Maybe total war: warhammer The later three dont really seem like they really tried to add anything to the RTS series. They felt like safe games that seemed very cookie cutter. I havent played any other except Xcom 2. How can they nominate Claudia black for uncharted when her performance in Destiny 2 is so good. She should have 2 nominations for best performance. lol IDK Im voting Brian Bloom just because i havent played the others but if Burch or Black win i wont be surprised. Ididnt realize there was a difference between handheld game and mobile game. They both seem exactly a like to me didnt vote for any game in either catagory but I though people hated the Super mario run game. it has a 3.7  rating for android.  

glad it's not just pure Zelda adoration while it does deserve much of the love for me personally its divinity original sin 2 and runner up mario (having not play horizon /persona(also having just bought both today ))

He is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to variety of games he enjoys (the whole bit with NieR Automata sealed it) I really hope he is in more episodes!

game of the year is tough.  Choosing between botw/zero dawn/persona 5 is seriously tough i think just on hours played i have to pick persona 5 as i put about 100 more hours in but all deserve it.

to me the outlier in all the lists is ff15 i just couldnt get into that game at all its the game ive played this year ive hated the most its pretty but i just diddnt enjoy any part of my time with it.

for portable game i really hope ever oasis wins its a fantastic little game not the longest but i enjoyed every minute of it i really hope it gets a switch port it could look fantastic on something thats not a 3ds

I don't know if it was because the lip sync and the facial animation on horizon zero dawn was pretty poor, but I did not like Ashley Burch at all in that game.

 i wonder why they didnt put Splatoon 2 in the best ongoing game category. I know it wont win it but i think it deserves a place in the nominees because they added soo much to the game and just recently put into it a huge update
