I'm glad Adam found KD:M! I'm not sure if he saw it, but I posted about it on another Glitch Please when he asked for suggestions.
Ryan is absolutely right with his fears of Labo. its a really cool gimmick it honestly is but it just is going to be a massive time and money sink for parents that would be better filled with a big tub of Lego.
First thing, in Horizen there is a guy somewhere to give you a quest that leads you to the DLC, buy you have to be near him to see it, I think. Next on the subject of single player games not making enough money, lets take a look at the amount that CEOs and stock share holders are making, they could spend that extra 50 or maybe even 100 million on good single player games but they would have to take a pay cut. It's greed pure and simple.
First thing, Horizon. Second I don't think you listed a single fact. Just I thinks and maybes.
To comment on the whole wanting to keep players playing a game discussion, Square is doing that just fine with Final Fantasy XV with its events and updates. People tend to go back to that game just for the events or the new game plus that allows you to do more things in the game you never could before. I don't know if Square Enix is considered a Triple A developer/publisher, but given they make Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, that can be argued to be very linear JRPGs, they don't have much of a problem getting people to go back to their games from my perspective. Same with Atlus and the Persona series making it very difficult to do everything you can in the game with one playthrough. It's doable, but it requires very good time management. They also kept a secret boss fight in the new game plus in Persona 5 which makes me want to go back in and play so I can try to beat that boss.
Ironically, Ryan and Yarn are anagrams.
Ashley, what I've always done for the Blitzball grind is, once I just need the wins and not levels, just score a quick goal, get the ball back, then go sit in my own goal post with Brother because he can out race everyone and then nobody will go that far in. You can cheese the crap out of it and just put the controller down if needed.
Nintendo labo looks great fun for a while i wonder what its going to be like after 2 weeks though
just think though (this will never happen) use the bike as a starter and 2 of the pedals you can make a reasonable facsimile of a racing sidecar (so lay down throttle rear brake as pedals) slap the switch itself in a "helmet" then have a 2nd helmet and switch for 2 player coop double dash style mario kart as they can then spin round and fire weapons from the sidecar and with motion controls probably even shift weight to aid the driver
Just want to say, loving this Show/ Podcast, look forward to it every week, one of my favourite RT Productions - KEEP IT COMING! :)
If something happened to Ryan's twitch I have confidence in the mods over there that they would handle it. Not to mention that the Mad House wouldn't tolerate things of that nature either.
<3 I do appreciate the automatic assumption that "the mods would handle that". It was very sweet.
Achievement Hunter in a nutshell: "mischief in relation to computer data"
$70 makes more sense for Nintendo Labo kits if they do have a game included, but if that game is unusable without the cardboard model, and the cardboard model is easily destroyed, then it starts to seem very expensive again. So yeah, I hope they do sell (affordable) cardboard replacements.
I'd like to get some clarification: they are treating lineal games different than open world games, correct?
Yes.
