Is this show not going to be livestreamed for First members like The Patch used to be?
It will be eventually. Right now the broadcast studio is a little hectic so the show isn't always filmed at the same time, and as a result it's not great for livestreaming. We'd end up having to stream ones we'd recorded earlier every few weeks and that's not great. Once we get a permanent timeslot for recording we'll kick off the livestreams.
Will this have an audio release like other podcasts? I can't always watch videos in a timely fashion, but have a plenty long commute built for audio.
+1, I only listen to podcasts on my way from/to work! ;)
It'll be up soon!
No audio download for this podcast?
It's on the way!
Congrats on the first episode guys! Great first non-pilot run, and can't wait for more!
Just wanna say I'm admiring that arch. It really fooled my eyes into thinking they made it jagged in post. I'm assuming Marcus did that because who else would or could?
I doubt Castlevania will be bad. I probably said basically the same thing when Enjoy the Show discussed it, but animated movies/shows based on video games tend to be better. Games rely on art style for visual storytelling, like Warcraft. It's very stylized. That style didn't mesh with live actors. Or imagine a live-action Overwatch movie. They'd need tons of CGI to be faithful to the material, at which point they may as well just keep making animated shorts. Halo's had 4 movie/webseries. The two live-action ones were pretty bad, honestly, while Legends was phenomenal and Fall of Reach... Well, Fall of Reach wasn't a high school drama and the plot had some sense of closure, which I can't say about Forward Unto Dawn and Nightfall, respectively. I love Felicia Day, but her live-action Dragon Age movie pales in comparison to the animated one about Cassandra. The only bad examples I can think of are Devil May Cry because it relied on tropes and barely involved the game's story, and Final Fantasy: Spirits Within because it wasn't based on ANY games at all and was basically made to be a tech demo.
So after the whole pilot run and now the first episode, I'm really liking this podcast. The structured segments and the longer time really make it so you guys get more substance on each topic into the conversation. I know that was the point and it's been said a lot, but it's definitely working. I'm glad to have a gaming podcast from RT/The Know back in my rotation each week.
That's a really cool table. Definitely fits with the theme of the set of being really trippy. Also really like that all the transitions are random glitches in video games.
It is so nice to have this back. The Patch was like hanging out with my friends and ranting about Overwatch and imagining the possibilities of VR, while also trying to talk about the news.
Glitch Please is like hanging out with my friends and discussing the news, with dashes of the fun rants and predictions. It feels more professional, like the version of The Patch that came home from college and knows more about what it already loved talking about. In short, I'm digging this. And the set is amazing! One (tongue in cheek) question though: will an hourglass ever make a reappearance?
Is it possible to download this through the RT app?
Oh hey, The Patch!
intro too chill.
