Got to love listening to all podcast made by Rooster Teeth at work. Makes it over100 times better.
I'm excited to pick up the N. Sane trilogy because I played a little Crash bandicoot when I was younger, but never got into it too much, as I think I only had the first game. I want to check out what I missed
I'm happy Gus has a game he loves this much, but after numerous E3 streams, several podcasts, and I think all but one Glitch Please, I don't know how many more hours I can take hearing about PUBG, especially after five conversations about it in this week's RTP and Post show. Again, I have nothing against the game, but thank you Ashley for cutting that discussion short.
I thought multiplayer gaming would be the greatest once internet speeds would get better, but communities just went to shit and my friends don't have the time to play together. So I hardly play multiplayer in teams, always solo queuing
I find it weird to see someone say they wouldn't touch a game, while wearing that game's merch?
I'm guessing Adam got it for free, but still odd.
my parents didn't care for gaming and still dont, when i was a toddler i guess we had an Atari that broke, when the ps2 slim came out i was able to get that for Christmas (never played any of the classic Ps2 games though) then when the Ps3 slim came out i was able to get that for Christmas. but when the ps4 and xbox one came out my parents "didn't want to get me another console" so to this day i still dont have either of them, ive become a PC gamer because of that but i seriously want to get one of the consoles but have no money to get either.
Gotta say man, you're going the opposite way than most. A PC is usually the money pit, not the consoles. I think that most people would agree that you have the better end of that stick. That said, the grass is always greener... Good luck with your money decisions, you're not alone in the struggles.
I think I laughed for a solid minute at Ashley's face as she watched the Mario Maker run. I can't tell if she was shocked, horrified, mesmerized, or all of the above.
Personally, Destiny/ME3/MEA were all horrific disappointments.
I agree with Miles, I just get too impatient and bored with turn-based games. Glad to see other people agree!
People finding the Crash games too hard is amusing to me. I managed to finish (not 100%, but clear every level) of 2 & 3 when I was less than 10 years old. I got a PS1 when it came out and probably got the games as they came out. I was pretty shit at the first one, but then again I was also younger when I played it... I've played 2 again in the last few years (the original release) and some levels are a pain in the ass (god damn the jetpacks) but they're not impossible.
Crash Bandicoot 2 will always be one of my favourite games, along with Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Also shoutout to Crash Team Racing for being the only good racing game.
Something I'm surprised they didn't talk about with gaming as a kid: renting games rather than buying them. I know that's how I played a LOT of my games because we couldn't afford to actually buy them.
The last console I owned was a PS2 but I want to buy a PS4 Pro for Crash and maybe some other games as well. I love gaming, I just could never justify the price of it when I was younger. Then again, Pokemon's probably moving to the Switch, so I want to buy one of those because I've been playing Pokemon since Gen 2 came out... I've bought each new Nintendo handheld (I think I was too young for the original Game Boy, but I think I had a Color and I most definitely had an Advance) to keep up with it.
Super NES is actually proper :P some of the old packaging said SuperNES but I believe the most common logo/name they used was Super Nintendo with Entertainment System underneath it. I could be wrong :D its been so long haha
some of the differences for me laying as an adult vs a kid.
Inventing game types i remember playing project gotham 1/2 online and we invented game types that the game couldnt do (one of which is now basically offence defence in gta5 so 8 players 4 in fast cars 4 in minis the fast cars try and get their partner (same colour) to the line 1st)
i spent ages in duke 3d making levels i cant remember the last time i tried to make a level in any game.
online play i barely do anymore threre are too many nutjobs out there for it to be fun
now im also more likely to just nope out of a game as granted wasting £50 sucks but its not as bad as £40 as a kid so ff15 i gave up on after 90 mins after i just hated it but by the same token i got 70+ hours from zero dawn/zelda botw or well over 100 from persona 5 so maybe it evens out i might of got that over the years from link to the past but probably not on the snes (combined between snes/wii/wiiu maybe)
it is also good having enough spare cash to not worry about what system a game comes out on to get a snes back in the day i had to sell my megadrive now just plugged into my tv i have ps4/xbox1/switch/wiiu/wii/crummy pc and the 360 can be rigged up in about 30 seconds just needs a hdmi lead from something.
ive also noticed i tend to play a lot more story based games so i used to mainly play stuff like halo/project gotham/forza now im more likely to play tomb raider/zero dawn / a jrpg (i also seem to of moved from defaulting to xbox to defaulting to ps4 and have barely turned my xbox on this year
