Byleth Added to Smash Ultimate Instead of Literally Anyone Else

Sakurai revealing Byleth as the last fighter of this fighters pack, which I thinks is pretty cool, feels like a big middle finger to the toxic part of the smash bros fandom, and I for one love that

My heart kinda goes out to those who made the character and the announcement video, got it all set to go, put Smash levels of effort into making it look good... and then had to watch as the internet worked itself up into a hypestorm over the possibility of Dante and others that they knew would be massively disappointed. You just can't control that. As to the pick itself, hey, could've been worse. Could've been another random pokemon. Could've been another Link.

There's literally less FE characters than Mario, Pokemon, or Zelda. But yeah, FE is definitely the game that is overrepresented.

I mean considering that corrin was one of the DLC fighters for smash ultimate this was to be expected.

I meant smash for 3ds

I won't be satisfied until Wonder Red gets his spot in smash. It's another sad day indeed. The only silver lining is that byleth seems like a more interesting character than most of the other fire emblem characters.

Goddamn that ending was incredible

I don't really mind that they're bringing in another FE character, and I really like Three Houses, but... why another FE SWORD user? FE's got an enormous arsenal of different weapon-specializing characters, and 3 of them are prominently displayed on the cover of FE Three houses and well-loved. I would been hyped about any of the 3 house leaders becoming the playable character (prefereably Edelgard, but whatever), but no, we get near-mute, oblogatorily-generic, sword-wielding Byleth. ugh... what a waste.

I love everything about this episode, and I’m not that usually that into IG, Patrick’s “I’m gonna write a manifesto at you” had me cackling
