I think the big thing that should be thought about is what each of these companies are known for. Apple - Has no way of 'legally' obtaining any app unless it comes from Apple and through Apple. Same with all of their devices. They are hell bent on a monopoly (not to quote Todd). Google is a huge proponent of free speech and open development. Their Play store remains protected against these kinds of things and they took action but Android devices aren't locked down like Apple's are. You can still just download the app from the Epic Website (probably) and play. No Play Store needed because Google don't give a f*#@. And Epic, a company that has consistently pushed free content to users with no strings attached for years is pushing more savings toward users at the behest of their competition. Regardless of their intent or benefit you can't deny the actions have good outcomes.
