Very disappointing in this group of people and their report on this event, when Ubisoft did address the elephant in the room publicly on Twitter, saying all of this was prerecorded before the issues were brought up. If the group of people here actually did the research needed, and properly did this, they wouldn't have made the comments they did. But the lackluster results show again, with probably no form of an apology or recognition they did wrong. What a surprise.

@GiantPancakeWAWR yeahhhh no. "It's prerecorded" is no excuse. It's a multi-million dollar corporation, they have the money and resources to record and edit in an addendum. Just a shit look, especially when you've been accused of ignoring problems before

@GiantPancakeWAWR It is worth noting that they have just fired a whole bunch of their leaders (and don't forget all the people who are flying under the media radar who have been asked to clear their desks or are doing it themselves so they can say they resigned or left themselves before they are fired for misconduct... with all of these people leaving - particularly the leaders of the company - and with all the sutff the remaining people are having to deal with as a result I am NOT surprised that they decided not to change anything - particularly since adding some form of statement might prejudice the company in one of it its many upcoming lawsuits and employment tribunals and would have to be written by some of the departments accused of the aforementioned mysogynistic and violent acts and failure to respond to complaints about such in any way despite it being their apparent job to do so. HOWEVER, see my main comment... tldr; they did a lot more than RIOT did once it came to light... though the witchhunt that is sure to continue after these heads have rolled will likely involve some innocents (who happen not to be liked for other reasons) it is still better than the abject denial and continued harrassment and sweeping under the carpet that RIOT is still doing - arbitration is not dealing with the problem, arbitration is seeking to forget it all and get rid of the troublemakes while giving them as little as possible RIOT.

For all the comparisons to RIOT, I would note that heads are actually rolling... many heads and many people who were thought to be immune. This looks like there is going to be a witchhunt - with the usual innocent collateral damage - but it is a whole lot better than RIOT's insistance of everyone going through arbitration and signing non-disclosure agreements about it all while leaving the people in charge in charge. I suspect that given the harm this is going to be doing to shareholder value that there is a good chance that the rest of the heads at the board table will also roll in fairly short order once they can work out who should be in charge... this is a French company remember... making heads roll is in the blood - literally. Whatever the case, the entire games industry, and particularly the bigger companies involved in it have a LOT of housekeeping to do - they always did have and the longer they leave it the harder it will be on them. That is not to say other industries are not in much the same boat; Hollywood, the banking industry, the finance industry, definitely some of the manufacturing industries e.g. pharmaceuticals... but it'll take time and what holds true for gaming will hold true all the more for the rest of them - Hollywood has already started to see some of the cracks over the last couple of decades. The only reason the gaming industry started later but is going faster is because the industry is younger and evolving much faster as a result - that works for the good things e.g. Moore's law and gaming rigs as well as the bad wholesale destruction of the largest players in the game due to the failure inherent in the system of economies of scale and capitalism - there is such a thing as too big and even so big it can only fail (it's just the government isn't going to bail out the gaming industry like it has the banks but even in the banking and finanace sectors it is getting too much to bear the complete failure of the market to correct the aberrent behaviour of those in the market... if you don't believe me then rationalise the sunk cost fallacy that governments have been using to support their banking systems... economics needs rational actors and the sunk cost fallacy is how real people act so one of the primary axioms of economics is wrong... I'll leave finding more as an excercise for the interested reader,the rest of you can either choose to live with the certain knowledge it will all fail at some point or hang on to your own sunk costs... have fun with that! ;)

@RiverRunning Why are you assuming that people are going to be let go innocently? Dont call it a witch hunt, the point of that term is that they are looking for something that doesnt exist, and sexual abuse obviously does

@RiverRunning first off, your response completely missed the point. I will explain why, since you claim to not understand the actual meaning of a phrase that is almost as long as the more accurate word, investigation. the term "witchhunt" is specifically referring to rigged investigations where there is no crime or perpetrator of a unfortunate incident. It has context as it comes from shit like the Salem witch trials where several women were murdered for crimes that were impossible to commit, infact those trials could very easily caused by women rejecting the advances of men, the irony. "Witch" in the context of the term Witch hunt exclusively refers to the green skin nose warts, turn you into a frog and curse your children kind of witch that exist in pop culture. If you said priest hunt I would have called you an idiot (I actually did then deleted it since you act confused) cause that's not a term Don't use terms you don't understand, especially since you used it to defend rapists

@RiverRunning even if we went with what you said being witch is a commonly misused word. You are comparing the practice of hunting down and brutally murdering innocent people under false pretenses (that's what witch hunts were) and comparing that to the investigation and simple firing of people who very much committed real crimes and hurt real people. It's a really shitty thing to do and implies, especially with the following sentence, that you think that the people mentioned in the video are being unfairly persecuted for some disagreement

I bet theres more of you at RT doing it..Theres over 3 or 4 confirmed cases now, some with the said employee still working there and believed without proof. I may be mistaken but they did tweet out that the reason they werent mentioned during the forward was because most of the forward if not all of it was prerecorded
