Microsoft is set to buy Bethesda in an earth-shattering deal announced by the Windows creator this morning. The Xbox Series X creator will now be adding the studios behind Fallout, Doom, Skyrim, Dishonored, Wolfenstein, Starfield, Rage, all of the other Elder Scrolls and more. This news has come at a pivotal time for the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X which are set to launch this November and have been criticized for their lack of exclusive titles. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see just how much the Bethesda acquisition shapes things like, exclusivity, services like Game Pass, and PC versions of Xbox owned IP... However, it’s safe to say this is a big surprise and an even bigger big deal that will be felt throughout the entire industry. Bethesda has published some of the most successful and recognizable games in video game history and now that creative legacy will continue on under the Xbox Game Studios banner. Join us today on Inside Gaming as we sort through the details and count Microsoft's $7.5 Billion dollar purchase price one bill at a time.
