The PS5 is taking some heat just a day before its big launch date and price announcement. Sony has potentially hit a bit of a snag with manufacturing the next-gen console according to a recent Bloomberg report. The post claims the number of PS5 units projected to be sold by March has decreased from fifteen million to eleven million units due to an issue fabricating chips for the PS5. The article continues and suggests the system-on-chip process is facing about a fifty percent failure rate which is going to set Sony back more than a few shekels as they take losses on bad chips and readjust their projections based on availability. While selling 11 million Playstations by March is still an incredibly ambitious goal - failing chips aren’t the only factor causing the cost of producing the PS5 to rise. We’ll get you caught up on all the details just in time for tomorrow’s big launch announcement which you can be sure we’ll be talking about tomorrow right here, on Inside Gaming Daily!
