my lord the amount of people still throwing money are poke-mon games blow my mind you buy one game you have bought them all their is not change sure you might have differnt level of detail but with better grahpic you only really spending more time doing the same thing just pretty news flash the best poke-mon game was a game not even made by the owners of poke-mon infact it wasnt even on the gameboy it was a snes game made by a fan it had the pretty details and it was inline with the classic games but that best thing was it had and actual story and detail to the relationship of the poke-mon and trainer you played as the new games are nothing surethey look good but if you having to spend 3 time longer to win a battle whats the fun to be had i remember the old GB virtual and GBA virtual and the Snes roms
I am not really a MOBA player, they can be fun with friends but I don't really care about them usually. That said, I love Pokemon, but still not super interested in this either, though it doesn't look bad.
HOWEVER it also just really means nothing to me. I'm not hyped but I'm also not pissed off. (People put a hell of a lot of expectations on things all the time) They probably should have included it in last weeks announcements not on it's own, but also I don't know what the fuck went on behind the scenes and would not surprise me is Tencent went "Present this on it's own fuckers" and so they had to.
But in the end, this has no effect on any other Pokemon game (the number of people I saw complaining about Game Freak or 'make the main games better instead' was disappointing but not surprising) and I'm not against using the IP to try new things.
My big takeaway is I hope this means that non-main line things people have been asking for like some kind of MMO is more likely because it seems TPC is more willing to try out these different ideas. Though an MMO is a big ask in general but I think the support is there to make it successful.
