The elephant in the room being RT's own animation team also being subject to crunch. Good on RT for previously acknowledging their problems, though abusing employees because everyone else in the industry does isn't exactly high moral ground. Exploiting and overworking workers is nothing new to Capitalism and many success stories and examples of "efficient" business practices are really examples of shifting the burden onto workers and the environment. The reason many things are priced lower is the true cost is not accounted for. We are experiencing the worst income inequality and environmental destruction in history, with the very real possibility of a global systemic collapse. The "crunch problem" is not unique to games or animation, it's part of a global societal crisis. Business as usual is not sustainable in games, and it's not sustainable at any level.
