Cyberpunk 2077 is finally out! However, it is wildly janky across all its launch platforms including the Series X and PS5... but it’s particularly buggy on last gen consoles like the PS4 and the Xbox One.
Of course there were a few indicators leading up to launch that the game would have some bugs and after all CD Projekt Red did officially delay the game three times. Only PC copies of the game were sent out to reviewers and some were even told they can’t use their own footage of the game in embargo compliant reviews.
Now that the general gaming public has finally gotten their copies of the game it’s become really clear why. Cyberpunk 2077 is really, really broken on consoles. Some players reported sub 20 frames per second as well just an extreme level of open world jank.
Join us on today’s edition of Inside Gaming as we start the countdown to the next Cyberpunk 2077 patch and take a look at just how big the flames are on this long awaited launch day.

Everyone loses their minds at the idea that a game launches wit issues. As a gamer of a LONG while, this is expected. I'm still stoked about the game and look forward to purchasing it when most of this has been ironed out. Any AAA open world games always needs tweaking. But given a year a GOTY edition will come out and it will have DLC built in. That's when I'm purchasing it.
@willhelm_55 Yeah, but, the point is that it shouldn’t be this way. It’s disgusting that gamers have just become bootlickers of these massive corporations who release unfinished, buggy, garbage games, and then defend them when people point out how unacceptable it is. I haven’t pre-ordered a game in years because of this problem - bc no matter the hype, no matter the reviews from the shills at Metacritic, you never know how a game is going to perform until it actually gets into people’s hands - and usually, it’s pretty shitty. No other product would get away with being sold in such an unacceptable state - these companies (not just CDPR) are basically committing false advertising every time they release a game. It’s shameful.
Yeah I personally don’t see how a game that was supposed to be released 8 years ago but was delayed because they wanted it to be Peru and it’s running like absolute trash why’d we wait these 8years if it’s running like a 2012 game?
It's a shame it doesn't do well on last gen because it's a really good time. My One X could barely handle RDR2 and that was trees and some animals... can't imagine a massive city with more moving parts than you can shake a stick at running on that thing. Thank God I have a Series X.
I mean how did people not see this coming, Nvidia recommended a 2080 super for 1440p at 60 fps to run the game weeks before release (which these recommendations are usually off in a negative way). The delay was probably to see if more people could get the series X or PS5 to avoid these issues ( their gpu is comparable to a 2080S).
