I feel like I'm the only person who wants stadia (or something like it) to work. It could be so good but the model stadia is using (subscription and purchase) combined with the prohibitively expensive cost of Internet decent enough to run it means it was always somewhat destined to fail. The XBGP is pretty good and PSNow would be fantastic if it had the range of games XBGP had
@Crackracket tbh, i think we all want it to succeed, but the schadenfreude of stadia is just too good.
As someone who much prefers handheld to console, stadia/play anywhere services would mean i get to finally play the games that i dont own the consoles for. But, between the high price, poor quality, and refusal to adjust their methods, its a solid nope.
When they started to flounder, they could have adjusted their plan, held off on the subscription service until more bugs were worked out. But between the mess and the money, its not worth participating as "early access testers" to help things improve.
Tbh, kinda resent that statement about things looking garbage on Switch and only “kids” not noticing. I’m an adult and I only have a Switch because it’s the only console I can afford. Yeah, the game quality isn’t as good as on PC or other consoles, but it gets the job done. It feels kinda condescending for y’all to be talking about how only kids play the Switch, and so, they can excuse the bad performance when there are some of us who can’t afford to buy every console and play every game that gets released.
