Dying GameStop to Close Hundreds of Stores

I love IGD and watch every episode. This episode was likely the hardest to watch only because it really felt they were making light of stores closing which would result in a lot of people losing their jobs, especially since RT announced the next day their own layoffs. I have no doubt that this was not the intention of the episode, but it was still really hard to watch. Love the team and the content though and I wish all the best to everyone there, past and present.

really hope game stops just go away. Digital should be main way everything is done. just close all the stores and pop up something new. might seem callous but I've been hoping gamestop would just disappear for over 10 years now.

That said, it would be less than Rooster Teeth's layoffs (percentage based).

My local area has a store called Video Games Etc. that I much prefer over Game Stop because they carry older and retro consoles that Game Stop won't take (I've purchased mint condition, still in the box versions of the NES and SNES from here) as well as DVDs, video games and controllers for almost any console, cards, legos, etc. I also find the atmosphere much more welcoming than Game Stop's. The only time I'll go to Game Stop is if I'm bored and already in the mall. The last time I was in one I bought a pair of socks for my husband.
