To be fair to the thirteen year olds who don't know about influencers being paid, it's also usually standard practice to list when you're a gamer being bribed a million dollars to play a game and say good things about it. Super shady and pretty blatantly manipulative to engage in what's basically unmarked advertising and present it without any notice of sponsorship. At least when most gamers are sponsored or have been compensated, they say so.
I love the ad format that you guys and all of rooster teeth, it reminds me of the way they did it when tv first started its always an organic experience.
@Freshwaterforlife Title was 100% accurate. He got 1 million dollars to Stream and Promote Apex: Legends. You must be a fan of Ninja and think this is an attempt to slam him.
@XelcarOriginal For once I'll reply to stupid comments.
I read the title as "Ninja -had to pay- a million dollars." I thought the title was saying that the stupid fortnight streamer actually had that much money to pay to be able to play it.
I was wondering if fortnight had a deal with him and made him pay to play their competitor's game.
I'm not gonna stand here and let someone acuse me of liking that stuff. I'm mad about the title because I didnt want to click on a video just to hear about some shit getting more money.
This is not a scandal. If you care about this it's because you're a god damn loser. Why the FUCK does it matter if money is changing hands? If you doubt their authenticity, don't watch. Christ...
Wow this whole video pissed me off so much. Christ. You have ZERO right to have the information you are DEMANDING. Government authority for the win! Good ideas always require force, right? God damn is this ever pathetic. You claim that you have a right to know if someone is being paid for an advertisement - WHY do you think you have this right? Can you articulate it intelligently? I fucking doubt it.
@MarkelD I think it is pretty obvious why you should know if someone is being paid to advertise a product. It gives the consumer a chance to realize that whoever is advertising the product is probably not going to be completely honest with their reviewing and recommendation. Also really it helps out streamers in a way so that it can be clear when they genuinely like a product without any ulterior motive. If a streamer does not have a #ad then you should be able to be confident that whatever they are saying is genuine. But if it was not required to show that it is an advertisement then consumers would be left never knowing what was natural and what was artificial promotion of a product. Advertisements aren't inherently lies, but being paid creates a huge bias towards a product for the streamer.
