What I'm wondering is what'd they rename the Notch apple to. I think the other name for it was "enchanted gold apple"? Or just "God apple" among leet Hunger Games players? (so yeah Minecraft was the first game to feature Battle Royale mode, albeit via mod)
@Knowlessman They've never officially been called Notch Apples anywhere except the description of the achievement for eating one, they've always had the name "Golden Apple" just purple and enchanted.
@physicsninja Imagine working for someone for years and helping building a company from scratch, then having him expecting you to be his best friend because he negotiated four years salary as a bonus for the purchase of your group's hard work.
Grow up physicsninja, you sounds like someone still working at a McDonald's out of high school, lol
WOW I know Notch can be an asshole and many people can Confirm that he's not the best of people. But please don't take the things he says out of context and start character assassinating him. The Hilary Clinton thing was a joke or satire about radical leftist believing anything and the White people conspiracy thing is true even if your not white you get called a White male for criticizing something that is obviously bad or changed to meet some diversity check mark. there are Professionals in the industry calling white men the problem when entertainment products and promotions don't succeed. labeling them as racist and sexist.
@spiralblitz Oh yes, the "it was just a joke" defense. The line between satire and legitimacy on the internet is so thin that it's almost invisible. If you're spouting off about things like pizzagate, it's not hard to see you as one of the legitimate believers, even if you're supposedly just joking.
@spiralblitz "...a joke or satire about radical leftist believing anything..." So...is that why it was mainly right wing nutters who were ranting about it? I can't think of a single "leftist" who thought Pizzagate was a legitimate thing that was happening.
you guys really glossed over how bad the stuff he said is. It's super easy to brush him off as just another crazy superhero villain when you don't hear about the transphobic, homophobic, and literal nazi rhetoric he's been spewing lately.
I don't agree with a LOT Notch sent out, I don't agree with a lot of things happening in the video game industry right now, he probably should have given everyone at least a million. But sadly what rights does a person have to type what THEY want and to post it online? Even though it is evil, and hateful and will result in massive amounts of negative and hateful responses, do people still have the RIGHT to say the WRONG things online? How politically correct is TOO politically correct?
@WeirdFrank it's all private companies working here. He can post what he wants, and Microsoft can react how they want by cutting his name where they see fit
All of the business aside, I really like the mix up of presenters! The show is still the same honest news source, but its fun to see new people at the front. Maybe a funny graphic with the persons head instead of just the laptop?
@unbrokenfire Literally just go to his Twitter feed and scroll through it, look at Reddit threads, etc, he's been this way for years now.
•Claimed that trans women aren't real women and that they are mentally ill so they don't deserve the right to be called she/her
•Claimed he's being silenced by Jewish people when responding to a user using triple parenthesis ((())) (an antisemitic symbol)
•Claimed that if talking about IQ differences between races was allowed then there would be less conspiracy theories
•Claimed that white supremacists dressing up as nazis is not the same thing as the original because "The nazis back then were not trying to look like nazis".
Those are just scratching the surface.
@axmiller People put it around names of Jewish people, organizations that are thought to be ran by Jewish people, etc. It's a newer thing that's just started popping up in the past few years, the Wikipedia article goes a little more in depth about it.

Lots of artists throughout history were assholes. Notch is the creator of Minecraft, and it is a piece of art that will always belong to his name, in my eyes. I choose to look at the merit of his work and enjoy the product alone, the same way I look at an artist's drawing, but don't concern myself with what the creator's personal beliefs are.
