You really have to hand it how Taliesin handled the protesting during the WoW Q&A Panel. He didn't shut down either attendee from saying their piece, and even offered the younger attendee shouting "Free Hong Kong" to do so into the mic.
Dont apologize for a mid roll ad. Just roll with it and do a good segway. I'm a huge Kinda Funny fan and the way they handle their ad reads should be a standard.
Blizzard should be scared their customers will take their money elsewhere! This shouldn't be just political go look at videos of how human beings are treated in china! its a human rights issue that shouldn't be ignored or excused under any guise, the fact its spilled over to one company's action should be a good sign the canary is already dead in this cole mine! Free Hong Kong and while were at it lets stop china from making more very real concentration camps!
I would be willing to accept there statements about it being political and not about china, but there games are censored for china, it's nonsense. I'm not jumping to get away from them but I wish they would at least tell the truth.
As for the mid roll ads, I'm not a fan, just because there really isn't enough content in each video to break them up, imo, I won't stop watching or anything I know you guys have to pay the bills but I would love to see a better solution.
Midroll is fine my dudes. Gotta pay the payroll and bills right? I figured this whole narative was going to happen. People like an easy dunk and its proof that outrage culture is real though being a phalacy. I voted for a leader to my country here in Canda that i fealt would do something for China or at least echo the sentiment of the protestors. But as a citizen that the absolute most I can do, Im not flying to HK to walk with protestors. Bitching and expressing my opinion, which nobody wants to hear btw accomplishes nothing.
@ZeusBaxter what does online anger and statements from america and other countries really do anyway? It sadly won't make china do anything differently, and they will simply make their people see nothing.
@WeirdFrank Exacly. Actions speak louder than words. That's why there are protests there. Being so detatched even most actions we do arent enough to affect any change. Doesn't mean we shouldn't do what we can. But when it comes to words on the internet, its just pointless hollow speech.
While not feeling like supporting blizzard for the last couple of years, (firing 800 people after record profits tastes much worse than this still) I don't think they should be pushed to revoke the ban, Blitzchung knew exactly what he was doing and knew it wouldn't be okay, if he didn't get so harshly banned his statement would have made much less of a splash as well. They should still be shamed for reacting in that manner, something you'd only expect from an authoritarian regime.
I'm interested in OW2 as a PvE game, the PvE just doesn't look very good. I love L4D and OW2 looks like if L4D had no creative maps and objectives and just a horde to walk through with some timers to survive through and some bosses to focus on, no interesting enemies or objectives. I hope I'm wrong, but they really should include a OW2 exclusive mode, I'm thinking like a horde mode where you basically have 6 player co-op tower defense with the talon enemies as well as the null sector bomb payloads and some Junkenstein's revenge style bosses.
2 games are not going to be able to fix the reputation of a company that keeps screwing up. 1) Diablo immortal ('nuff said). 2) canceling several anticipated games at once. 3) laying off employees when your stocks soar to save a quick buck 4) this BS with blitzchung which just reveals who runs the company. and 5) 2 games after how many years? freemium games will not be sustainable when someone wises up and cranks out better single / multiplayer games consistently without controversy in their company. 6) the devs are already doing walk outs, what happens when they unionise?
